On Tuesday evening, the mayor of Houston announced that Police Chief Troy Finner had retired, effective immediately. CBS News Texas’ JD Miles has learned that some Dallas police officers are concerned that Chief Eddie Garcia may be being courted for the chief job there. Garcia is credited with a plan to combat violent crime and rebuild trust here with the community. Sources say Houston contacted Garcia to gauge his interest. Garcia was summoned to Dallas City Hall for a meeting with council members Wednesday evening.
